The drawing pushed me to tackle matters which I used to put off and pushed me to handle it in a creative way. It also showed me to listen to my body which in turn put my daily priorities in perspective through change. The Soul Drawing and the explanation helped me understand how to improve myself.

I had never really considered the idea of a 'Soul Drawing'. The soul has different meanings to different people, so, when my drawing arrived, together with its very detailed explanation, I felt a sense of wonder that it had touched the 'tip of the wave' that was 'me'. Not the outer me, for the personality is something transient and formed from the conditions of this life; but the inner "I", the guardian of our life that waits for its chance to mature into our new, combined outer and inner self in a process that is always painful. It grants us glimpses of a more noble and higher perspective, though one often at odds with our former values.
Diana captured what we talked about as my painful "Osiris-trials" where the old has to die for the new to be born. It's an ageless quest, contained in much of the world's most ancient Mystery Wisdom. You have no idea of its power until it happens to you. It's not glamorous; and it's not pretty; but each step brings you closer to the power of the truth. In the Silent Eye, the School of consciousness of which I am one of three directors, we teach that the destruction of the self-facing parts of our "ego " is that change of life which brings renewal in its wake. The process is a mixture of Fire and Truth, acting on the dying parts of ourselves. It is not a process for the unready, to whom illusion is a comforter.
Without prompting, Diana drew all of these things into my gift, which I shall treasure forever. The timing of her work was breathtaking, in itself.
